From heavy-duty hauling to trailer towing, the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Chassis Cab is perfect for the task. Its Herculean power blends with a comfortable interior that adds lavishness to the toughest jobs.

Basics About the 2024 GMC Sierra 3500 HD Chassis Cab

The new Sierra 3500 HD Chassis Cab is a behemoth of a truck and one of the most capable heavy-duty rides. GMC offers this truck in regular, double, and crew cab styles. The truck is compatible with most aftermarket upfits, including flat beds, dump beds, utility, platforms, or snowplows.

Six trim levels make it easy for drivers to match the performance and specs to their needs. Three of these can be had with two-wheel or all-wheel drivetrains. The upper models come exclusively in AWD configurations.

Outstanding Performance

All trim levels except for the Denali Ultimate come standard with a 6.6-liter V8 gas engine. This configuration delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. An optional 6.6-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine brings more muscle with up to 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque for a towing capacity of up to 36,000 lbs. This engine, which is standard on the Denali Ultimate, improves towing control and brake performance.

Both engine options pair with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission that provides smooth shifting for ultimate driving control in all conditions. On models with the Duramax engine, the transmission can be fitted with an optional chain-driven PTO for easy power transfer from the engine to aftermarket equipment.

A Spacious, Comfortable Ride

Depending on the cab type, the Sierra 3500 HD Chassis Cab offers a seating capacity for three or six passengers and plenty of in-cabin cargo space. The standard 40/20/40 split-bench front seat comes with valuable under-seat storage and can be upgraded to bucket seats for improved comfort.

Based on the trim, the standard upholstery can also be upgraded to cloth, vinyl, or leather. The upper trims come with awesome standard features, such as a 10-way power driver seat with lumbar support and a 10-way power-adjustable seat for the front passenger.

Technology and Driver Assist Features

GMC packed a suite of tech and driver assistance functions in this truck. The base trim comes with a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, complete with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The infotainment system on the upper trims boasts a 13.4-inch touchscreen and offers more features, such as Google built-in and split-screen navigation.

Standard safety and driver assistance features include emergency braking, and forward collision alerts. An HD rearview camera is also standard on the base trims. Hill Start and Park Grade Hold Assist are other awesome features that help move the vehicle out of the park on hills.
