Mechanical

The standard engine on the Sierra 3500HD is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that boasts 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. This engine is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission for the smoothest acceleration.

If you need something with serious towing capabilities, you can opt for the available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. This engine provides a maximum towing capacity of 36,000 pounds along with 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm.

Exterior

The Sierra 3500 comes with a GMC Trailering Package that includes everything you need for your towing jobs. This includes a hitch, hitch platform, connectors, an electrical harness, and a receiver hitch. This package also comes with Hitch Guidance, which uses a rear vision camera to help you monitor your trailer and hitch on an in-cabin screen.
