Factory-Recommended Maintenance Intervals Explained: When to Visit Your GMC Service Center

7,500-Mile Service

Current models like the 2025 Acadia typically require service every 7,500 miles. Our technicians will rotate your tires and change the oil. We’ll also do a comprehensive multi-point inspection that covers the exterior lights, windshield, wipers, battery, brakes, system fluids, tires, and all visible components of the vehicle. Finally, we lubricate all the chassis components and flush the underbody of the vehicle to remove accumulated dirt and debris.

22,500-Mile Service

At this appointment, we’ll perform the 7,500-mile service and change the passenger compartment air filter. You might need this filter changed more frequently if you often drive in areas with poor air quality or heavy traffic.

60,000-Mile Service

This service appointment includes the 7,500-mile service plus a spark plug inspection. We’ll look at the spark plug wires and boots and change out these components if they’re damaged or worn.

100,000-Mile Service

Once you’ve driven 100,000 miles in your GMC, it’s time to replace the hood or body lift gas struts. You should have this service done every 10 years, even if you haven’t hit the 100,000-mile mark yet.

150,000-Mile Service

At 150,000 miles, we’ll drain and refill your vehicle’s engine coolant system. You’ll also have the basic 7,500-mile service at this appointment.

Maintenance for Severe Driving Conditions

Your GMC will need additional maintenance in certain conditions. The severe service schedule applies if you drive a commercial vehicle, drive in a very sandy or dusty environment, or typically take very short trips of 4 miles or less.

In this situation, you should also have the automatic transmission fluid changed every 45,000 miles. AWD vehicles driven in severe conditions should also have the rear axle fluid changed every 75,000 miles.
Most GMC models share similar maintenance schedules, but consult your owner’s manual or call us to get specific intervals for your vehicle. Contact Stan King GM SuperStore in Brookhaven, MS today to make a service appointment or schedule a test drive for your next great ride.
