Best-in-Class Heavy-Duty Pickup

GMC has cut no corners crafting a powerful pickup that is loaded with all the comfort features and technology you would expect in a 2021 GMC vehicle. Buyers can choose from a 6.6-liter 401-hp V-8, which comes standard, or upgrade to a 6.6-liter turbodiesel that boasts 445 hp, 910 lb-ft, and up to 35,500 lbs. of towing capacity. Buyers can opt for short- or long-bed configurations, and have four trim levels to select from.

Pricing on the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500

A base Sierra with a 6.6L V8 gas engine can be had for $45,095 MSRP. At the other end of the spectrum is the amazing Denali model, with a Duramax Turbodiesel V8 – this will cost you $76,945. There are of course several options in between that can accommodate your needs, wants, and budget.

There are also 15 custom packages to choose from, ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars each. If you want your Sierra to be outfitted with some innovative features and technology that you won’t find on the lower trims, ask your dealer about GMC’s incredible package selection.

What’s New for 2021?

The Sierra has upgraded its trailer-assistance features for this model year. We really like the new jack-knife alert and trailer-length indicator – two new features that just make driving a lot easier when pulling a large trailer. GMC now offers the Multipro tailgate as a standard feature on the SLE trim, and a newly standard 360-degree, high-def camera on the Denali. Lastly, the off-road-friendly AT4 now comes with mud-terrain tires.

Smart Features We Love

The Sierra 2500 has some unique features that you won’t see on many trucks. For example, an automatic electric parking brake keeps the vehicle from lurching forward when you shift into park (this is particularly useful when connecting a trailer). There are push-button controlled towing mirrors that can extend or retract, making parking with a trailer much easier.

When parking on a hill or traversing steep terrain (which can be very tricky if you’re pulling anything), the Sierra’s hill-start assist and hill-descent control features help to keep your load secure.

Towing Capacity

The Sierra 2500’s standard payload capacity is 3,232 lbs. and it can haul up to 14,500 lbs. if you add the trailer package. If you have a larger boat or trailer to town, buyers have the option of adding a gooseneck trailer instead, which will boost the towing capacity to 16,620 lbs. For buyers with massive RVs to pull, they may want to consider upgrading to the 6.6-liter turbodiesel powertrain, which can haul an astounding 35,500 lbs.
